BIOGRAPHY
TINO (MLT) 🇲🇹 is a DJ and music producer blending ethnic textures, progressive house, and melodic techno, guided by a deep fascination with the science of sound and its ability to alter perception, emotion, and physical states. His work is rooted in the belief that music is more than entertainment it is a tool for healing, connection, and transformation.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, TINO has studied the hormonal and neurological changes triggered by sound, exploring how rhythm, frequency, and melody influence dopamine, cortisol, oxytocin, and other neurochemical responses within the mind and body. This scientific understanding informs both his productions and DJ journeys, where tension, release, and repetition are carefully designed to become therapeutic experiences.
This approach echoes ancient traditions, where sound and rhythm were central to healing rituals, community gatherings, and even warfare used to unify tribes, regulate emotional states, and alter collective consciousness. TINO reinterprets these primal concepts through a modern electronic lens, merging ancestral energy with contemporary club culture.
Starting his DJ journey in 2010, TINO quickly became a familiar name in Malta’s underground electronic scene, performing at major club nights and sharing the stage with internationally acclaimed artists such as Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Blond:ish, Ten Walls, Tale Of Us, Thugfucker, Tube & Berger, DJ Ruby, Miss Roberta, Barnt, Job Jobse, Pachanga Boys, The Element, and Maceo Plex.
Known for deep, progressive house sets filled with emotional melodies and immersive storytelling, his sound naturally evolves, escalating into melodic techno and techno while maintaining a strong narrative arc. Every set is approached as a journey of awareness, not just a sequence of tracks.
In 2015, TINO stepped away from the scene to focus on his professional career and family, a period that further shaped his understanding of human behaviour, emotional intelligence, and intentional experience design.
Now preparing a long-awaited return in 2026, TINO re-emerges with renewed purpose not only behind the decks, but also producing original music and curating immersive, conscious experiences through his project, BLK Immersive Events, where science, ritual, and electronic music converge.
